Don't opt for CHEAP WORK. Everyone wants a discount and yes you can get a full set of eyelash extensions for $50. But would you really want to? At this price, technicians have to speed thru the procedure to maximize their time. This leads to poor quality work or shortcuts. If your technician is able to do your full set in under two hours, and fills under an hour, you are getting cheated. And more than likely your natural eyelashes are being compromised. Speeding thru your appointment can mean one of two things, or probably both. She is either not giving you the fullness you deserve, and stopping short leaving several lashes bare, without an extension attached. Or she is not isolating your lashes properly and adhering the extensions to several of your own lashes. This results in not only clumps of glue, but also having your perfectly good lashes fall out prematurely. Also beware is they tell you that you need to get all of your extensions removed and start fresh every few months. The reason for this is, so much glue builds up overtime when using a bad technique, that eventually they can't get their tweezers through your lashes due to your lashes being clumped together. You should NEVER have to get a NEW full set if your lashes are being applied properly. We have several clients that have been with us since 2009 and have never had to "take a break" or have their lashes removed. At Lash Out Loud we only hire pure perfectionists! It takes all of us (even those with 8+ years experience) a full two hours to apply a full set. We do not stop until all of your natural lashes have an extension attached to them.
Beware of flares and cluster lashes applied and used for shortcuts. These consist of attached groups of 3-8 blunt-end lashes, often with a knot at the end of them. These types of lash enhancements are designed to be applied to the skin for short term wear. It has become known that some technicians are taking these lash groups and using a semi-permanent eyelash extension adhesive to adhere flares and individuals directly to natural lashes. Applying lashes in bundles will take significantly less time to achieve a full look rather than a single lash by lash application. However this is an unhealthy method for natural lashes. These bundled lashes are far to heavy for a single natural lash to support. If applied to one natural lash they can break the natural lash and inhibit future re-growth. Alternately, if they are applied to multiple natural lashes to properly support their heavy weight, multiple natural lashes will be adhered together. Since natural lashes grow at different rates, the flares will cause faster growing natural lashes to prematurely pull out slower growing lashes from the root since they are bonded together. This can result in permanent damage and lash baldness if done repeatedly.
Properly applied eyelash extensions should be seen but not felt. There should be no discomfort during or after application. Trained professionals not only isolate a single lash as they apply, but constantly check throughout the application to ensure that no lashes are adhering together as they dry.
